New strong measures for Burkina Faso sport: shock therapy for a large sick body

The League of Sovereignty was born out of the will of the Comrade President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ to reshape the Burkinab sport community. The aim is to ensure a better geographical distribution of the sport offer throughout the national territory.
This championship is based in part on the regions, hence the holding of this meeting with the regional governors, in the presence of the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Comrade Annick Lydie Djouma PIKBOUGOUM/ZINGUÉ OUATTARA, the Deputy Minister responsible for Budget, Comrade Fatumata BAKO/TRAORÉ, the Chairman of the Special Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Comrade Roland Achille Sow, a representative of the Burkinabè Patronate, Comrade Alassane SIENOU and the international former Charles KABORÉ, Ambassador for Sport, Sibiri Alain TRAORÉ and Adama GUIRA.

He also announced the establishment of a media coverage of the championship, while cautioning against “false deals”. Each selected athlete will have a minimum award of 200,000 fcfa with related benefits. Nearly 1,000 jobs will be created.
Voluntary but mandatory private sector contribution.

Through the Sovereignty League, the Head of State intends to offer a framework of expression to young people in several sports disciplines and at the same time fight against certain scourges such as the use of drugs and alcohol. “We cannot build a nation with a young person who is sick, with a youth who is not conscious. The Revolution wants to rebuild our homeland based on our resources. And the resources we have in our hands are youth,” said Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ.
In order to value this wealth of young people, the President of Faso also relies on sport to “model them, keep them healthy, to have a healthy mind”.
